Gavin Boyter – co-writer/co-director
Gavin graduated from the Northern Media School in 1998 and since then has directed numerous short films including BEYOND (Edinburgh Film Festival 2007), Primal Scream “Deep Hit of Morning Sun” and The Veils “Lavinia”. Full-length screenplays Gavin has written include the Scottish Highlands-set horror film THE BOTHY and time travel love story THE BEACHCOMBER (shortlisted for the Moonstone Writers Workshop). His debut feature film is the romantic drama feature SPARKS AND EMBERS starring Kris Marshall and Annelise Hesme theatrically released in the UK and on Netflix amongst other platforms. A keen runner, he is in post on “The Long Run” a documentary following his attempt to run from John O’Groats to Land’s End in September 2015 based on his book Downhill From Here (2017, Sandstone Press). His second book, Running the Orient, is due for publication by Great Northern Books on June 1st 2020.
Guy Ducker – co-writer/co-director
Guy Ducker has written and directed numerous shorts and has edited seven commercially released feature films. Following his post-graduate course in Film & TV in Bristol, Guy started his career in feature film cutting rooms. Here he worked as an assistant editor on features from the commercial hits like CALENDAR GIRLS and HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS, to the BAFTA winners like THE WARRIOR. Amongst the features he edited was Gavin’s directoral debut, SPARKS AND EMBERS.
BRAINCHILD, one of Guy’s five feature screenplays earned him a place on the TAPS Full-Length Script course. He was also selected for the London Film Festival’s talent campus, Think-Shoot-Distribute. His short films have played festivals around the world, have been shown by international broadcasters including BBC, HBO and PBS; they have exceeded a quarter of a million hits online.
He runs the screenwriting development group ‘The Scriptorium’, whose members include award-winning writer/director Destiny Ekaragha. Guy has directed numerous films for corporate clients including Fujitsu, and occasionally writes and directs graduation films for Mountview Drama Academy. He has taught editing at Oxford University and screenwriting at Central St Martins. His blog TALES FROM THE CUTTING ROOM FLOOR has over 100,000 readers.

As part of the Guiding Lights mentoring scheme in 2009, she was mentored by Producer Damian Jones (Oscar Winning THE IRON LADY).
